This was a lawn that sloped down under the hedges. The brief was to create a decked area next to the hedge making it a safer and more usable space.
Our client wanted the top end of their garden decking with composite for a seating area in the summer, and a new shed building for storage.
Creating a children's play area with artificial grass, play grade bark and sandpit. All allowing for playtime without the mud (except in the mud kitchen!). Planters were built to add more colour along the driveway and wall, and also a special planter for their budding young gardener.
A new build garden built in the village of Hoylandswaine. It's hilly heritage was mirrored in the original garden. The brief was to level the top section and relay new turf, create 2 decked areas from hardwood, install artificial grass on part of the lower level suitable for children and pets, replace the original paving with this gorgeous Indian Stone and create more paved areas on a flat level and create better drainage in the garden. We also rectified the wall which originally had iron fencing in that had been removed, and clad the once unsightly steps in matching materials to the wall and patio that has really opened them out.
Another new build garden built on a hill, this time in Woolley Grange, Barnsley. The client was challenged with a garden that sloped from the garage which is built at the top of the garden down to the house at the bottom. The brief was to create 2 levels so their family could enjoy the space. The upper level being a softwood decked space for the grown-ups to enjoy, and the lower being a low maintenance artificial grassed area for the young children to play. Steps were constructed from matching materials giving a safer passage to the garage. Original paving was taken up and re-laid having sunk over time, giving the patio area a refresh. As the clients are a keen gardeners, raised planters were installed made from sleepers where they will be able to add beautiful plants to their surroundings.
The client's brief was to create a bespoke wooden pergola on a raised decked area that would create them a secluded part of the garden to enjoy their evenings. The GDLCO team crafted this beautiful timber structure into a pocket of their garden, where now they have clematis climbing up the posts and other plants softening the edges.
